HEALTH SANITATION AND NUTRITION

Good health is the driving force for all economic activities and progress. Therefore, it is essential that every individual should be healthy and in case of illness every individual should have easy access to health services and get quality healthcare.

The organisation has ever been committed to provide quality healthcare services to all vulnerable, marginalised and disadvantaged communities through collaboration and coordination with healthcare centres across working areas. Improvement of community health began from Training to AWWs from 2005 onwards specifically to improve health of mothers, children, and adolescent girls. By, March, 2020, 19655 AWWs capacitated and enabled healthcare services to the target groups. During these period, HIV/AIDS spread globally and Governments had to implement measures to control it. NIRDESH, collaborated with NACO / Bihar SACS, UNICEF, India HIV/AIDS Alliance to control HIV/AIDS in Bihar and implemented Targeted Intervention Projectin East Champaran, and Link Worker Scheme project in Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga districts. Gradually, Care India, The Hans Foundation, Rural India Support Trust, Geneva Global, Centre for Catalyzing Change, Azim Premji Foundation, ITC Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd. and LIC Housing Finance Ltd. supported in improving public health.

We provide healthcare support to mothers (pregnant and lactating), eligible couple, children including new-born, infants, young children, adolescents, elderly persons and people living with HIV along with HIV infected children.

Since, 2015 programmes like Improving Health of Mother and Child; Targeted Intervention Project; Vihaan Care & Support Centre and Link Worker Scheme serves community health problems. Presently, we are serving 1,24,347 people from all social categories, majority of them belong to most vulnerable communities.
