ENVIRONMENT

  • Air Pollution
  • Water Pollution
  • Food and Water Shortages
  • Waste Management and
  • Biodiversity Loss

The above are the 5 biggest environmental issues that the country across its states is facing. To curb these challenges and improve environmental conditions for healthy living of all species including human race, we have been working in the field to green and clean environment and clean energy. In order to minimise air pollution, we drive communities engaging in tree and forest plantation, fruit tree plantation on one side and on the other converted barren land into fertile crop land. We promoted natural organic compost instead of chemical fertilisers in farm to enhance soil fertility, production as well reduce soil heat. To control water shortage particularly ground water, “Save Water” and to “Make best use of Water” approach instrumented and promoted “Rain Water Harvesting” technology to control water shortage. We insisted and imparted knowledge among rural stakeholders and individual families towards water saving and water pollution control through recycling processes. To ensure food for all throughout the year, investments in cultivable fields have been done through promotion of soil development and conservation, nursery development, orchard development, high yielding seeds, organic manure, tool kits, solar irrigation, proper care and crop health management, etc.

Under Holistic Rural Development Programme (HRDP) supported by The HDFC Bank Ltd. implemented in 15 villages of Bachhwara block of Begusarai district in Bihar. Green and clean environment focus tree plantation, nutrition garden, orchard development, intensive vegetable cultivation and use of solar energy for street light, irrigation pump and cooking. Holistic Rural Initiatives for Development and Yield (HRIDAY) supported by The LIC Housing Finance Ltd. implemented in 08 villages of Rajmahal block in Sahibganj district in Jharkhand state. Mitigating soil erosion, soil development, nutrition garden, and use of solar energy for street light, irrigation pump and cooking are promoted. Ponds and wells are renovated for maintaining the ground water table.
